  • DL Jason Augustino North Allegheny HS, Wexford, PA 6-5 230 -- Sometime OL starter. ++
  • TB Kevin Brooks Great Bridge HS, Chesapeake, VA 6 6-0 175 -- Sometime starter, would have had a more impressive career had Tiki Barber not come into his own. +++
  • DB Joe Crocker Sussex Central HS, Wakefield, VA 15 6-2 185 -- Good defensive back and special teams player. +++
  • WR Tyrone Davis FUMA, South Boston, VA 6-4 175 -- No redshirt, first catch ever went for a touchdown and for a while he held the all time touchdown receptions record. ++++
  • QB Mike Groh Randolph HS, Randolph, NJ 6-3 175 -- Won the starting job from Willis in late 94.  Improved his arm strength and came on to have an outstanding 1995 season, giving the team exactly what it needed: cool leadership and if not a strong arm, a capable one. +++
  • LB Skeet Jones Green Run HS, Virginia Beach, VA 4 6-2 190 -- Redshirted.  A terror on special teams, then took over at MLB his senior year. +++
  • DB Paul London Bethel HS, Hampton, VA 9 6-3 180 -- Redshirted, had a quiet but solid career, started as a senior and was an underrated safety and hitter. +++
  • LB Randy Neal Hackensack HS, Hackensack, NJ 6-4 217 -- Outstanding 4 year contributor at MLB.   No RS. ++++
  • LB Eddie Robertson T. W. Andrews HS, High Point, NC 6-3 225 -- Moved to defensive lineman, not exceptional but an important backup as a senior. ++
  • DB Carl Smith Huguenot HS, Richmond, VA 6-1 190 -- No RS. Multi year starter at safety. ++++
  • QB Symmion Willis Benjamin E. Mays HS, Atlanta, GA 6-4 195 -- Started in 1993 and the first half of 1994.  Talented but erratic, had his best games against bad competition.  No 5th year, concentrated on baseball instead. ++

  • QB Aaron Sparrow -- #1 player in the state did not qualify and went to Norfolk State.  (In hindsight one wishes on a farfetched scenario where he would have prepped, recommitted, redshirted, then been available to start as a 5th year senior in 1996.  One drools at the prospect of having an outstanding quarterback on a team with the best UVa defense ever, Tiki Barber as a senior, and Germane Crowell at wideout.)
  • Al Shirley -- #5 player in the state opted for pro baseball.  Surfaced a few years later as a possible recommit.  However, he had taken some classes at a small (community?) college and his eligibility started ticking.  UVa was unwilling to give a scholarship to a player who would only be there one year.
